Wolfgang Bender was with the Mediatum Group from 2006 to 2018 and headed the business of Mediatum Deutschland and most recently Mediatum Austria until his departure as a managing partner. 

 

He is one of the experts in Europe for companies in the medtech and diagnostics industry. In recent years, he has advised numerous life science companies in filling management positions and supervisory board mandates. Wolfgang Bender studied biology with a focus on molecular biology and microbiology at the Universities of Cologne and Marburg. After graduation, he worked for several years for the world leader in separation and filtration technology in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and marketing.

 

He then moved to the medical publisher Urban & Vogel, a subsidiary of Springer Verlag. There he was responsible for the advertising business in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industry. In 1997, Wolfgang Bender founded a professional services company in the Frankfurt area, which he successfully built up and sold to an operator chain in 2000. He then joined a recruitment consultancy specializing in health care, medical technology and life science, where he worked in executive search, both nationally and internationally, until the end of 2005.
